Website Launch for Pardot – Week of the Launch

You have done all the hard work with preparing your marketing tasks and Pardot assets well ahead of the launch and now the time is here.

What do you need to do now?

1. Review your Master Spreadsheet for the Launch

  • Make sure it is up to date with all the current Pardot assets, as you may have created new ones in the past weeks
  • Check if all of the instructions and new links to add are included in your list

2. Categorise all of the Essential Tasks

  • Adding the Pardot tracking code to the website
  • Updating the links in the Pardot assets
  • Changing the old templates to the new ones on your forms, landing pages and emails

3. Prioritise your Pardot Assets by their Importance

  • Forms displayed on the website should be updated first
  • Adapt your website forms autoresponder emails to the new design to stay consistent
  • Change the template of the unsubscribe and email preference centre pages
  • Update the style and look on your landing pages with the new templates
  • Move any old designs to an ‘ARCHIVE’ folder – you might need them in the future for reference

4. Hand out the Responsibilities across the Team

  • Make sure everyone on your admin team knows their role of the launch and understand their instructions.
  • Show your marketing team the new design and let them know what new templates should be used for future marketing campaigns.
  • In case there are any specific code adjustments or web works involved, include your developer team well in advance, to make sure they are aware of their tasks.

5. Inform your Company about the Launch

  • What will be changed on the new website?
  • When is the launch expected?
  • Are there any actions the employees should take during the launch?

6. Keep the old Website Data safe

  • Once everything is ready for the switch, make sure your web team saves the details of the old site to a secure location. You might need this in case there are any problems with the launch.

7. Have a Party!
And finally but by no means least, after your new website is launched, ready and live, make sure you thank everyone for their hard work in this project, and organise a nice celebration for your teams.
