The Winter ‘27 release is almost upon us, and with it comes a variety of updates across the Salesforce ecosystem. In this blog, we take a look at our Top 5 updates across Sales, Service, Marketing, Flow and Reporting.
Top new features
- Sales – Deal Risks & Activity Trends in Pipeline Forecasting
Firstly, we look at our top update that benefits Sales reps and managers. Within Pipeline Forecasting, teams can now interact with new columns to see agent activity, deal risk alerts and activity heatmaps. This helps Sales teams get a better view and understanding of their pipelines, and improves forecasting accuracy.
- Service – Deleting Outdated Case Milestones
Winter ‘27 brings an update that has been an Idea for nearly 10 years. With the new release, Case Milestones can now be deleted in bulk via data loaders or via Apex. Previously, you could not delete Case Milestones, which could have a large impact on storage, so this is a much welcomed change that can benefit a lot of orgs.
- Marketing – Completion Actions coming to Marketing Cloud
Completed Actions allow you to automate tasks when a prospect completes a specific action. This is available in Account Engagement and, with the new release, will also be available in Marketing Cloud. Previously, separate flow logic was required to achieve this, but with the new release, an ‘Action’ element can be added to the Flow, which allows the user o add Marketing Completion Actions.
- Flow – Process Multiple Records from List Views/Related Lists
With the new release, bulk operations can now be run on multiple records from list views and related lists, allowing mass updates of records without updating those records individually or building complex workarounds. With this new update, Flows can easily be run from list views/related lists to allow users to select multiple records and perform mass updates.
- Reporting – Preview Records from Lightning Reports (Beta)
Winter ‘27 brings a small yet impactful update to Lightning Reports. Once enabled in Setup, this new feature will allow users to review specific records on a report without leaving the report or opening a new tab in their browser. The details of the record will be displayed in the side panel, whilst keeping everything from the report visible. This small change can have a big impact on efficiency, and allowing users to work from a single tab easily.
What to do next/How to prepare
Firstly, you will need to determine if any of these updates are relevant to your business or process. Will they bring benefits to you or your users? If so, these can be tested in a preview sandbox prior to the release, so that you will be ready for when the updates go live.
Conclusion
While these are our top 5 takeaways from the Winter ‘27 release, Salesforce has packed even more enhancements into this update. Every organisation’s architecture is unique, what streamlines one sales process might require careful sandbox testing in another.
