My Favourite Features of the Pardot Summer ’21 Release

Over the past years, we have seen many great additions to Pardot, including new feature releases and user experience improvements. So, it is no surprise that the Pardot Summer ’21 Release holds many new items we are super excited about. Here are my favourite ones.

Mailability Section on the Prospect Record

This new feature will allow a clear overview of the prospects mailability status. Instead of the scattered information on the prospect record page, we will have one dedicated section displaying everything we need to know, such as:

  • Pardot Summer '21Whether a prospect is mailable or not
  • If the prospects Email address is unique
  • If the prospect has unsubscribed
  • Whether the latest email send reported a soft or hard bounce

In addition, these fields will be editable manually or automatically via Automation Rules, Engagement Studio or prospect import. Just be cautious that you don’t overwrite any data by accident.

Availability: All Pardot editions, after feature enablement.

Improved Dynamic Content user experience

One of the greatest but often forgotten features of Pardot is Dynamic Content. By leveraging known information you can easily create personalised content, without creating multiple versions of the same email.

However, the user experience for this feature has not been easy, which makes this new feature so exciting.

In the Dynamic Content section, we will see the ID number of each content – the same references we see in our Pardot assets. This takes out the guesswork and jumping between areas of Pardot that was needed before.

In addition, it appears that we will finally have a Filter section so no more scrolling to find the right content.

Availability: All Pardot editions.

Account-Based Campaign Management

Since the Spring ’21 Release, this feature has been available as a Beta edition, and will now become generally available.

Your Account-Based Marketing team will have a new way to track engagement, as Accounts can be set as Campaign Members. After an easy configuration process, you will see the ‘Add to campaign’ button on your Account pages.

Availability: All Salesforce editions, after feature enablement and page layout update.

Dedicated Permission Set for Marketing Admins

marketing set up

As of the Spring ’21 Release, a ‘Marketing Setup’ section became visible in Salesforce, grouping together all the Pardot/Marketing related settings you need. However, to proceed with those Pardot configuration tasks, Pardot admins require System Administrator rights in Salesforce.

With this new release, a new user permission will be available that will separate the Pardot and Salesforce setup and management tasks. Once the permission set is applied, your Salesforce admin won’t have to give users Pardot access or configure the Analytics features. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.

Availability: All Pardot editions while using the Pardot Lightning App, after custom permission set has been configured.

Take a look at the rest of the improvements and new features of the Pardot Summer ’21 Release and start the countdown now.
