At Dreamforce 2023, Salesforce announced that customers with Enterprise, Unlimited or Unlimited Plus Edition will be provisioned with free licenses for Data Cloud and Tableau.
What does this mean?
This announcement has opened the door for customers to get to know Data Cloud and its capabilities. Data Cloud, formerly known as Genie, was the big Dreamforce announcement of 2022. Large enterprise customers, such as Formula 1, had the opportunity to work with this platform and gain the real-time insights, data unification and segmentation that Data Cloud offers. However, not many customers and even partners have had the opportunity to explore it. This was largely due to the cost of the platform.
By making Data Cloud free for customers, we expect to see a huge uptake. Recently, the Data Cloud Consultant certification was announced with lots of content added to Trailhead.
When will this be available?
Data Cloud will be available to customers with Enterprise Edition and above from 19th September 2023. Get started here.
