As a Pardot user, the Pardot Specialist Exam is a great affirmation of your Marketing Automation career. It will test your familiarity with the Pardot platform, automation, and awareness of the integrations.
When to take the exam
There are no pre-requisites to taking the exam, so timing is going to be down to your confidence levels. Everyone I know who has taken it has had varying levels of experience with the platform. Personally, before taking the Specialist exam I had 2.5 months of hands on experience with the tool.
How to prepare
I used the Salesforce Exam Guide to help guide my study, and did the Pardot Trailhead modules. You can kick that off here.
Once you’re ready, you’ll need to make sure you have a WebAssessor Sales login (if you don’t already, you can create one here: www.webassessor.com/salesforce)
What to expect from the exam
If you’ve done your revision, you’ll know the content. The only thing you need to be wary of is that some of the questions can be worded very strangely, so remember to read them through several times as they do try to catch you out.
The exam is fully multiple choice, but again please read the options carefully as they can be really similar in terms of wording, with just one tiny thing different in each answer.
The exam will test you on these areas:
- Visitors
- Prospects
- List Management
- Security & Access
- Administration
- Pardot Campaigns
- Pardot Forms
- Lead Management
- Scoring
- Email Marketing
- Engagement Studio
- Landing Pages
- Social Marketing
- Salesforce Integration
You’re not allowed any notes in the exam, and you’re not allowed to take food or drink in, so make sure you’ve hydrated beforehand. You’ll have 90 minutes to complete the exam, and you need a pass score of 67%.
Celebrate your pass!
Once you’ve passed, make sure you celebrate by sharing your certification on LinkedIn, and any other social platforms you want… it was the first thing I did when I passed!
