Christmas. One of my favourite times of the year. Like most I take the chance to spend quality time with family and friends, enjoy good food and, of course, sleep in till 8 am (who am I kidding with an excitable child in the house!). It’s also the time when I reflect on the year just gone and, more importantly, start to think about the year ahead and the opportunities it might hold.
This is exactly what I did last year – having spent 11 years working in Telecoms with the later 7 being at a company I loved, I was starting to question what I wanted to do next? Questions such as how could I develop further, how could I best use my knowledge and experience to work in a role where I could help others….
In my last job, I was often called the “Salesforce Guru” – well I did have 6 years of experience on the platform (now 7!) and I’ve always felt very passionate about the system. Yet, I wanted to do more than Salesforce Admin – I wanted to be a Salesforce Consultant. A role in which I could build on my experience, be someone people trust, someone people seek guidance and support from and be someone who could recommend best practise based on all my experience.
Since taking the plunge I haven’t looked back. It has been a fantastic year for me and I am very excited about the future. So if you are reflecting on your future and want to also help others maybe you have the characteristics to be a Salesforce Consultant?
consulting may very well be one of the most rewarding professions in the world… if you are a good fit for the job.
